SAFETY AND SECURITY
Your safety and the security of your personal property are of the utmost concern to us who welcome you as our guest.
We urge you to take advantage of the following precautions.
DOUBLE LOCKS
For additional security, utilize the deadbolt on your door upon entering. This will prevent the door from being opened by a regular room key. As an additional precaution, please secure the safety latch.
ADMITTANCE
Do not admit persons to your guest room without first making identification. A door viewer is provided in your door for your convenience. Never sit in your guest room with the door open and never invite strangers to your room. If there is any doubt about the person’s identity, please contact our Front Desk staff.
SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES
Personal items, as well as all valuables, should be placed in the front desk safe and then locked for proper security.
KEYS
Do safeguard your key. Do not leave it in your room or in the door, and do not give your room key to others.
FIRE
Please familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest exit stairway. In an unlikely event of a fire, please move quickly and calmly to the stairs. Report fire or smoke to the hotel operator. Do not use the elevators.
VEHICLES
Do not leave valuables in your vehicle. Lock your vehicle when you are leaving it.
PARKING
Always look around before entering large parking lots. If you notice someone or something suspicious, do not continue into that area. Return to your room or to a house phone and contact management. Escorts may be provided if necessary. Hotel is not responsible for any damages to vehicles or thefts in our parking lot.
SURROUNDING AREAS
Not all areas of any city you are visiting will be safe. As in any downtown city, caution should always be exercised when venturing out and about. Contact management about safety of an area before venturing into it.
FIRE SAFETY TIPS
Never smoke in bed or cook in your room.
Always unplug personal electrical appliances, such as irons, hair dryers and curling irons.
PLEASE PLAN AHEAD
In case of fire, smoke may reduce visibility, so plan ahead.
Study the emergency evacuation route located behind the room door.
Determine the location of the two nearest exits, fire alarms and extinguishing equipment.
Count the number of doors between your door and the exit door.
Keep your room key readily available.
IN CASE OF FIRE
If you detect a fire, pull the nearest fire alarm if you can safely do so and notify the hotel Front Desk.
Move quickly, but calmly, to the nearest exit.
If you hear a fire alarm, DO NOT PANIC. Remain calm, take your key and go to the door of your room.
If your room is smoky, get on your hands and knees, and crawl to the door.
Feel the door and doorknob. If it is HOT, DO NOT OPEN the door. If it is cool, open it slowly.
If the hallway is smoky, get on your hands and knees, stay next to the wall, and count the doors as you crawl to the exit.
Take your room key with you so you can crawl back to your room if the exit is unavailable (remember the number of doors between your door and the exit).
IF YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR ROOM
Call the Front Desk and let them know where you are.
Fill the bathtub and sink with cold water for firefighting.
Wet your sheets, towels or clothing, and stuff them in all cracks and spaces around doors and vents.
Using an ice bucket or any other container, keep doors and walls wet.
Check to see if there is smoke outside the window. If there is no smoke and the window can be opened, hang a sheet of light-colored materials outside.
Make yourself visible to rescue personnel through any window in your room. DO NOT JUMP.
If your room is full of smoke, fold a wet towel in a triangle and tie over your nose and mouth. Stay low.
FORGET SOMETHING?
No worries. We got you covered.
Items such as combs, razors, shaving cream, feminine products, toothbrushes, toothpaste and sewing kits are available at the Front Desk.
These items are complimentary. Enjoy your stay!
